MFT Presents at Making Finance Work for Africa Conference

Larry Reed, MFT President, made a presentation on interest rate transparency at the Making Finance Work for Africa conference in Accra, Ghana. “I was impressed with the wide range of activities underway in Africa to support financial literacy and consumer protection, from grade school curriculum to prime time soap operas on financial themes. I was glad to be able to present MFT's way of showing transparent prices to regulators, MFI leaders and consumers, “said Larry. “I found strong support from the MFIs attending and strong interest from regulators working on developing a framework for protecting clients while also expanding access.”
