Lors de mon séjour au Mali dans le cadre de l’Initiative sur la Tarification Transparente, j’ai eu l’occasion de participer à l’Atelier National sur la Protection des Clients, organisé conjointement par l’Association Professionnelle des Institutions de la Microfinance du Mali (APIM/Mali) et Terrafina Microfinance.  Les objectifs  de cet atelier étaient d’informer les acteurs maliens de la microfinance sur les principes de protection des clients de la Smart Campaign tout en les encourageant à intégrer ces principes dans leurs structures et leurs principales opérations de façon concrète.

Launch of the Transparent Pricing Initiative in Zambia and Tanzania

Earlier this month we launched the Transparent Pricing Initiative in Zambia and Tanzania with training workshops in Lusaka and Dar es Salaam. In just the first few weeks of these projects we have already learned a lot about the pricing practices in these markets and the role that MFTransparency can play in providing institutions with technical skills for implementing more transparent pricing.

Governor of the Bank of Zambia proclaims transparent pricing “imperative” for responsible lending at the launch of the Transparent Pricing Initiative in Zambia

LANCASTER, PA USA & LUSAKA, ZAMBIA, June 20, 2011 –MFTransparency has successfully launched the Transparent Pricing Initiative in Zambia, the sixth country in the MasterCard Foundation-funded enabling APR & EIR Program.

The official launch workshop took place in Lusaka on June 6. In this workshop, Alexandra Fiorillo, Vice President of MFTransparency, provided training on pricing transparency to more than 40 participants representing a range of local industry stakeholders including some of the leading financial institutions in Zambia and a high-profile delegation from the Bank of Zambia.

New Tool: Putting Transparency Into Practice

New Version of the Calculating Transparent Prices Tool Now Available

A new version of MFTransparency’s “Calculating Transparent Prices Tool” is now available. MFTransparency’s most popular resource, this Excel-based tool allows users to input loan terms to analyze the cost of a particular loan product, learn how various factors influence the cost of a loan and view borrower cash flow through graphs and repayment schedules.
