MFTransparency presents to Reserve Bank of India

On February 28th 2011 MFTransparency presented to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) the results of the Transparent Pricing Initiative in India. This data is available for the first time in history, and is publically available on the MFTransparency website along with analysis and other findings.

The Transparent Pricing Initiative in India was launched in April 2010 and the majority of the data collection process was completed by September. The success of this project reflects the longtime commitment of the Indian microfinance industry to transparent pricing and client protection. The publication of this data is a major step forward in the Indian microfinance industry’s ongoing efforts towards greater transparency and consumer protection. The Transparent Pricing Initiative in India will serve as a catalyst for further developments in responsible microfinance, both in India and in microfinance markets around the world.
