Winners Announced at First Annual Microfinance Recognition Awards

On Tuesday 26th October 2010, Hanson Wade’s inaugural Microfinance Recognition Awards were launched in Washington D.C to celebrate those who have contributed innovative and original work within the Microfinance industry. MFTransparency received the award for Commitment to Social Performance and Transparency.

Winners Announced at First Annual Microfinance Recognition Awards

On Tuesday 26th October 2010, Hanson Wade’s inaugural Microfinance Recognition Awards were launched in Washington D.C to celebrate those who have contributed innovative and original work within the Microfinance industry.
As the Microfinance industry continues to grow, mature and develop, 6 award categories recognized innovative work produced by MFIs, Foundations, Investors, MIVs and the industry that serves them. Hanson Wade would like to congratulate the 6 organisations who took home winning trophies last week:

  • MicroFinance Transparency in the Commitment to Social Performance and Transparency category;
  • Sahayata Microfinance in the Commitment to Improved Governance category;
  • MFX Solutions in the Commitment to Product Innovation category;
  • The Kuyasa Fund in the Commitment to Innovative Technology category;
  • Boulder Microfinance in the Commitment to MFI Professionalization category;
  • The Calvert Foundation in the Commitment to Social Impact Investing category.

Congratulations also to the runners up in each category: Grameen Financial Services, TransGlobal Cash, Women’s World Banking, Southtech Limited and Kompanion
This year’s Recognition Awards represented the beginning of an exciting longer term vision for Hanson Wade’s series of Microfinance events. In 2011 Hanson Wade will be holding regional Recognition Awards alongside their flagship conferences in Singapore, Amsterdam, Washington and Nairobi.
Starting in Singapore, the Recognition Awards will continue to recognise those who work tirelessly to achieve best practice and innovation in Microfinance. Supported by the MIX, the awards will be judged by 6 industry professionals from the region.
