MFTransparency presents at MCPI Annual Conference, Philippines

Published on July 28, 2011

On July 28-29 2011 the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI) held its annual conference in Manila with the theme Making A Difference: Multi-Stakeholder Action Towards Responsible Microfinance. Attended by 250 practitioners, funders, government institutions, donors, investors and other support organizations, the conference invited a multi-stakeholder approach to protecting microfinance clients and promoting responsible financial products and practices.

In recent years, Philippine microfinance has become one of the most dynamic and vibrant sectors in the world. However, recent issues and developments in the global microfinance arena are prompting microfinance stakeholders to revisit goals, products and practices in microfinance. As part of this conference MFTransparency delivered a presentation on the state of pricing transparency in the Philippines, and a training session on pricing in microfinance.
