MFTransparency presents at microfinance workshops in Paris and Antwerp

Published on July 12, 2012

In July 2012 MFTransparency presented at a series of workshops and meetings in Paris, to a variety of audiences including Proparco, BNP Paribas, and Incofin.

A variety of topics were covered, including a review of the recent challenges in microfinance, a discussion on the deception of using averages, and an explanation of the price curve in microfinance. Chuck Waterfield’s presentations posed two common questions to the audience – what is the “market price” of microcredit? and what is a “responsible price” for microcredit? –  and addressed the need for a deeper discussion on “sustainability” in microfinance.

The two presentations, entitled “Overview of Interest Rates and Pricing Methods” and “The Price and Cost Curves” can be viewed below.
